Travelling with Pets

Once your flight is booked, the next step is to make a reservation for your pet(s) using the link below. Our partners at Pawtrip are specialists with helping you through this process as you plan to your travels with your dog or cat.

We currently accept domestic dogs and cats on our flights to/from the United States, Canada, Bermuda, and Anguilla, provided they meet all applicable breed, size, and documentation requirements.

There are three ways your pet can fly with BermudAir, and we want to clearly outline each option so you can choose the best fit for your journey:

Service Animal

• Your trained service animal does not need to be in a crate
• Travels by your side in the cabin, free of charge

Pet in Cabin (PETC)

• Your pet must travel in a soft-sided carrier that fits safely under the seat
• Maximum carrier dimensions: 18" L × 11" W × 11" H (45 cm × 27 cm × 27 cm)
• Charged at a tax-included cost of US$95 (CA$128.25) per carrier, each way
• This equates to US$190 (CA$256.50) per round trip

Pet in Hold (AVIH)

• Your pet must travel in an airline-approved, hard-sided crate
• Maximum crate dimensions: 40” L × 24” W × 30” H (101 cm × 68 cm × 76 cm)
• Charged at a tax-included cost of US$400 (CA$540) per crate, each way
• This equates to US$800 (CA$1080) per round trip

Dogs are permitted for transport as:

• Service animals
• Pets in cabin
• Pets in the hold

Cats are permitted for transport as:

• Pets in cabin
• Pets in the hold

Seating Restrictions
Guests traveling with in-cabin pets will not be able to sit in:

• Bulkhead seats
• Rows with emergency exits

These seats cannot accommodate safe stowage of pet carriers.

Flight Inventory Limits
Per flight, BermudAir accepts:

• 1 service animal
• Up to 4 pet carriers in the cabin
• 1 pet crate in the hold

For pets traveling in the hold, owners are required to provide:

• A water bowl
• Separate water for the journey

Service Dogs
BermudAir welcomes trained service dogs. With the required documentation, service dogs are permitted to travel in the cabin, positioned in the space in front of the passenger.

Trained service dogs are defined as dogs trained to assist individuals with disabilities, including:

• Physical
• Sensory
• Psychiatric
• Cognitive
• Other qualifying disabilities

Dogs must be trained to perform specific tasks related to the disability.

Animals displaying disruptive behavior (e.g., barking, snarling, running freely in the cabin, or jumping on passengers or crew without provocation) will not be accepted as service animals.

Consistent with many other airlines, emotional support animals are not permitted.

Breed Restrictions
To ensure safety and comfort, certain breeds are subject to restrictions when traveling to/from Bermuda, Canada, the United States, and Anguilla.

Documentation & Entry Requirements
All customers traveling with pets must sign an indemnity form prior to departure. This form is available at check-in.

Documentation requirements vary by destination and may include:

• Veterinary health certificates
• Proof of rabies vaccination
• Import permits or government approvals

Canada
When traveling from Bermuda to Canada, customers are advised to complete the required forms from the Canada Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) to ensure their pet meets all entry requirements.

Anguilla
Pets traveling to/from Anguilla may require additional documentation, including government-issued import permits and advance veterinary clearance. Customers are strongly encouraged to begin this process early and work with Pawtrip to ensure compliance prior to travel.
